Privacy policy

FastPDF Chrome extension · Last updated September 28, 2026

This policy explains how the developer of FastPDF ("we", "us") handles information when you use the FastPDF Chrome extension or contact us. Privacy contact: [email protected].

1. Information processed by the extension

FastPDF processes user data to open, view, edit, fill, sign, organize, print and export PDF documents. Processing happens locally in your browser; it does not mean that the developer receives your documents.

  • PDF content: files you choose or open from a link, including text, images, document metadata, annotations, form values and drawn signatures. Documents may contain personal or sensitive information depending on their contents. FastPDF uses this content only to provide the editing features you use and does not upload it to us.
  • Document URLs: the current tab URL when you click the toolbar icon, a link you select from the context menu, or a PDF URL handled by optional automatic opening. FastPDF uses these addresses to locate and open the requested document. It does not access Chrome's history database, create a browsing-history log, or send URLs to us.
  • Settings: the preference for automatically opening PDFs is saved in chrome.storage.local. PDF contents and editing history are not saved in that setting or synchronized to an account.

For Chrome Web Store disclosures, PDF content corresponds to website content, and the use of document URLs corresponds to web browsing information. These categories describe the extension's access and use, including local processing, not a transfer of that information to the developer.

2. Local processing and retention

Documents and undo history are held in the current editor session. Projects are not automatically saved or restored. Download the edited PDF before closing or reloading the tab. Downloaded files are saved through your browser to a location you choose or your configured download location.

The automatic-opening preference remains in local extension storage until changed or removed. You can disable it in FastPDF Settings, revoke website access in Chrome, or remove the extension to remove its extension storage. Downloaded PDFs remain on your device until you delete them. Your browser or operating system may keep its own downloads, cache or backups outside FastPDF's control.

If you used an earlier build that saved projects locally, legacy browser data may remain. The current version does not read, restore or update those old projects; you can remove legacy data using your browser's storage controls.

3. Online PDFs and network connections

When you open an online PDF, FastPDF requests it from its original website. That website and any redirect destination receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, the requested URL and browser request details, under their own privacy policies. This is not an upload of your document or edits to FastPDF. Connection security depends on the source URL; use HTTPS links when available.

All application code, PDF engines and fonts are packaged with the extension. Local PDF editing does not require an account or an internet connection. The extension contains no advertising, analytics, remote font service or automated crash-report upload.

4. Browser permissions

  • storage: saves the automatic-PDF-opening preference locally.
  • activeTab: reads the active tab's URL after you click the toolbar icon to check whether it is a PDF link. It does not read unrelated webpage content.
  • contextMenus: adds an action for opening a link you select in FastPDF.
  • declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess: enables optional redirection of eligible PDF navigations to the local editor after you enable automatic opening and grant website access. It does not create a network-activity log.
  • Optional website access: lets FastPDF retrieve online PDFs and handle PDF navigations on permitted websites. The manifest also declares optional local-file URL access, subject to Chrome's controls. The current Settings flow requests HTTP/HTTPS access only; choosing a local PDF through the file picker does not require website access.

FastPDF does not scan folders, inject scripts into unrelated webpages or track your general browsing activity. You can review or revoke extension permissions in Chrome at any time.

5. Support correspondence

If you email [email protected], we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to your request and address the issue you report. Our Gmail mailbox and the email providers involved process that correspondence under their own policies. The extension does not send support messages or attach documents automatically.

Please do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive documents. We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request, related follow-up, or applicable legal obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion of information you sent us by contacting the same address. We cannot retrieve or delete PDF content that exists only on your device.

6. Sharing and Limited Use

We do not sell user data, use it for advertising, transfer it to data brokers, or use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions. PDF content and URLs handled by the extension are not sent to the developer or to analytics services. They are used only for the PDF features described in this policy.

FastPDF follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not read your local documents. Human access to information you voluntarily send for support is limited to handling that request. Support information may be disclosed when required by applicable law.

Chrome, the Chrome Web Store, PDF-hosting websites and email providers may independently process information under their own policies. FastPDF does not control those services or receive copies of your local documents from them.

7. Your choices

  • Choose which PDF to open; close or reload the editor to end the current editing session. Download any changes you want to keep first.
  • Disable automatic PDF opening in Settings or revoke website access through Chrome's extension settings.
  • Delete downloaded PDFs and any browser data using your device and browser controls.
  • Uninstall FastPDF to stop its access. Uninstalling does not delete PDFs you have downloaded.
  • Contact us about support correspondence or privacy questions at [email protected].

8. This privacy page

This page itself contains no scripts, analytics, cookies, third-party embeds or remotely loaded fonts. The service hosting the page may process standard connection information, such as your IP address, browser details and the requested page, to serve it. Following an external link or sending an email is subject to the destination service's own privacy practices.

9. Changes and contact

We will update this policy when FastPDF's data practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be disclosed through the extension or its store listing as appropriate; we will obtain consent where required before introducing new data handling.

For privacy questions and requests, contact the developer of FastPDF at [email protected].
